The Uganda Red Cross says at least 100 people have been injured in the protests that rocked the city today.

One person is reported to have died during the protests while the 100 have sustained both minor and major injuries.

Speaking to KFM the secretary general Uganda Red Cross Society Micheal Nataka says these have been taken to different health centre.

Nataka says the patients were mainly from areas of Najjanankumbi, Ntinda, Kasubi, Kireka, Kasangati, Kawempe and Kiwatule. He says most of the injuries were caused by consumption of teargas, stones and beatings.
