The Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) has deployed a 22-member election observer team in Uganda.

The observation team is led by the IGAD Director of the peace and security division Hon Siraj Fegessa.

Addressing the media in Kampala, Hon Fegessa said the observers are to be deployed in 5 districts including Kampala, Wakiso and Mukono.

He says these are deployed to contribute to enhancing the democratisation processes in the region.
