Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee has given Makerere University two months to have a substantive Bursar.
Members of the committee are disappointed that the university had not had a substantive Bursar for the last two years despite the huge amounts of money given by government to run it.
Committee chairperson Alice Alaso says it is high time the University lived to what it teaches by ensuring it appoints a substantive person.
She says if this is not done, the committee will recommend that the university is not given any more funds.
