As the annual martyrs’ day celebrations draw close, the Anglican Church is calling for more support towards preparations for the June 3rd event.

Speaking to KFM, the Chairman Organizing  Ruwenzori Cluster Bishop Reuben Kisembo says not even 50% of the proposed Shs2.1bn budget has been raised so far.

Bishop Kisembo says even the government pledge of Shs.1.5bn is yet to materialise, calling on the faithful to support the diocese with this year’s Martyrs Day preparations.

He adds that if the budgeted funds are raised in good time, they may be forced to cut off some important activities.

” For now we appeal to the general public to continue to raise and giving us  the money  to support the function.” Kisembo said.

The mid-west Ruwenzori Cluster will lead the 2024 Uganda Martyr’s Day Celebrations at the Martyr’s Shrine Namugongo on June 3rd.
