One artiste has died and four others sustained serious injuries after a thunderstorm hit Lango Broadcasting Service (LBS) radio in Dokolo Town Council over the weekend.

The deceased has been identified as Morris Olum, 23, whose stage name is Great Boy from Aloi sub-county in Alebtong district.

According to a statement issued by the management of the radio station, the thunderstorm destroyed the broadcast antennas and parts of the mast, crashing into one of the studios and injuring five artists who were on air to publicize a musical show.

Fred Eladu, the station manager says the injured artists were rushed to Dokolo Health Center IV for urgent medical care and four of them have since been discharged from hospital.
