Socialite Shanita Namuyimbwa also known as Bad Black has been sentenced to 4years in jail over charges of embezzlement.

She has also been sentenced to 18months on 2 counts of conspiracy to defraud but the sentences will run concurrently.

Her friend Meddie Sentongo, with whom she was convicted on charges of conspiracy to defraud also faces 18 months in prison.

Bad Black is accused of embezzling 11b shillings from Davishan Development Company that was she co-owned with her British lover David Greenhalgh.

Justice Catherine Bamugemereire says in her ruling that Bad Black was aware that the money she was withdrawing and spending was not from her personal account.

The judge has however declined to order a refund of the said money, saying Greenhalgh did not show any diligence in selection of his business partners.

The judge adds that David Greenhalgh also did not put in place any measures to protect his money.

Meddie Sentongo was convicted on grounds of evidence, showing that the money withdrawn from the company account held with Barclays bank was deposited on to his account in Standard Chartered Bank.
