Barrack Obama to Visit AU Head Quarters

US President Barrack Obama is today expected to visit the African Union Headquarters in the Ethiopian Capital Addis-Ababa, making him the first US president to ever visit the African Union.

He is expected to hold bilateral talks with the AU Commission chairperson Dr. NkosazanaDlaminiZuma and Commissioners.

President Obama is also due to deliver a speech to the continent from the Nelson Mandela Hall at the AU Conference Centre.

Dr. Zuma is expected to present to Obama Africa’s priority areas as articulated in the Agenda 2063 framework document and the 10-year-implementation plan aimed at achieveing Africa’s vision for prosperity, integration and peace.

Other crucial issues to be discussed include skills revolution to provide the youth employment opportunities, industrialization, infrastructural development and agro-processing.
