Chaos has erupted across the city, with most of the roads impassable.

The chaos is notable in the city along Kampala Road, Bwaise, Gayaza, Kalerwe, Mengo, Natete, among others.

Youths also attempted to block the road in front of the police headquarters in Kibuli and were dispersed.

KFM’s Solomon Oseku is in Kibuli says burning tires were put in front of the police offices, before they were dispersed.

Parts of Nasser road also turned earlier as demonstrators blocked the road. The police was also deployed quickly to restore calm.

Scenes of people running for their lives and cars being driven at break neck speed are common in different areas. Nakulabye and Kasubi are reported to be chaotic, with the protests said to have spread there.

In Kalerwe, the situation is not any better; the road between Kalerwe leading to Kubiri junction is blocked by protestors. The deployment is however very thin and the protestors are in control there.

The chaos in Natete and Ndebba has forced the residents to close their shops and normally busy suburbs such as Katwe are deserted.

The police spokesperson Juidth Nabakooba is however appealing for calm and says the situation will soon be brought under control
