Mubende Ebola task force has suspended the operation of all entertainment places and congested public places in the district. The task force has also restricted access to public offices that are considered high-risk facilities in a bid to curb the spread of the Ebola virus disease.

After the outbreak was confirmed by the health ministry on Monday,  Mubende district formed a rapid response task force responsible for handling suspected cases and preventing further spread of the virus.

According to the Mubende RDC, Rosemary Byabashaija who also doubles as the head of the task force, a meeting held on Tuesday evening also resolved to suspend cinemas, markets, and events such as weddings.

She says due to limited manpower to enforce this directive, the task force is currently focused on villages in Madudu sub-county where an isolation camp has been set up but it applies to the entire district.

The latest Ebola outbreak has so far claimed 2 lives with several other suspected cases still under medical investigation.
