The safe transportation of both primary and secondary school learners breaking off for third term holidays to and from Mubende and Kassanda districts starts today Monday, November 14.

This follows the Ministry of Education and Sports directives issued to all Chief Administrative Officers of Mubende and Kassanda and all head teachers of both primary and secondary schools in the two districts.

The guidelines apply to both learners moving out and coming into the two districts to prevent the spread of the Ebola virus.

According to government’s plan, drop and pick-up centres have been put in place where learners leaving the two districts for holidays should be transported and that transportation will be done only by government.

The pickup centres include Kasenyi secondary school for Mubende district and Nkoba primary school for Kassanda district.

The three drop-off centres include; Mityana Town school in Mityana Municipality, Buhinga Stadium in Fort portal City and Hoima Booma Grounds in Hoima City.

According to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education Mr. Ketty Lamaro, P7 and S4 leavers will be transported first today, followed by learners in continuing classes of P1-P6, S2-S5 on 25th November 2022 and then S6 leavers on 9th December 2022.
