The electoral Commission has asked residents of Arua Municipality to respect election guidelines and maintain peace ahead of the forthcoming by election for Member of Parliament.

The commission chairperson Justice Simon Byabakama says they are working with security agencies to ensure a peaceful process that starts with the voter register updates on July 5-9 before nominations set for July 19- 20th and polling day on August 15th

He however says the voters have a great part to play in ensuring a peaceful exercise and avoiding chaos witnessed during the burial of slain area MP Ibrahim Abiriga.

The Electoral Commission says the by election will cost Shs 504 Million.
