EC meet NMG Uganda managers ahead of 2021 elections, pledges media safety

The Nation Media Group (NMG) Uganda has met with the Electoral Commission (EC) and discussed coverage of the 2021 general elections coverage across the country.

Speaking during the meeting, the deputy chairperson of the commission, Hajjat Aisha Lubega, said that all media house should promote balanced coverage of the coming elections and desist from inciting violence.

The managing director NMG Uganda, Tony Glencross says that all the Nation media platforms including the television, print, radios and online platforms have continuously exhibited a high level of professionalism in covering elections and will continue do so in the 2021 elections.

The general manager, editorial content (NMG Uganda), Daniel Kalinaki said that the group has appointed a public editor Charles Bichachi whose work is to make sure NMG newsrooms perform to the expectations of the audiences.
