The Forum for democratic change’s women league has attacked the electoral commission for not conducting new nomination in the race for village woman council.

Under the new road map, campaigns for village women committees will take place from 29th June to 2nd July and the poll date has been set for 3rd July.

According to Sarah Eperu the spokesperson for FDC women’s league, this is totally unfair because there young female youth who would have contested if given a chance.

She said that earlier postponement of election was to give a chance to students to participate in this exercise, and thus limiting them to only voting is unfair.

However the commission chairman Justice Simon Byabaka earlier said that this exercise will capture new voters, but not new candidates and nomination will only take place 1,134 new villages that were created between 2017-2018
