The eviction of former Kampala mayor Alhajji Nasser Ntege Ssebagala from the Town Clerk’s House along Sezibwa road has started.

The exercise is being conducted by KCC Law enforcement officers together with the police.

Ssebagala who spent an hour in talks with the police has left the place after being asked to do so by the Kampala Metropolitan police Commander Grace Turyagumanawe.

Turyagumanawe has assured Ssebagala that all his property will be delivered at his home.

KCC communications consultant Patrick Mugyenyi was reportedly beaten up by Ssebagala supporters, 15 of whom are at the house.

Ssebagala’s men who are reportedly armed with sticks are watching the process keenly.

Anti-riot police is heavily deployed along Sezibwa road as the eviction continues.

The former mayor has insisted on keeping the house despite orders by the KCC Executive Director Jennipher Musisi to hand it over.

The second last council seating which Ssebagala presided over as mayor saw the councilors pass a unanimous resolution giving the house to Ssebagala.

The current city administration says the council resolution was passed illegally and insists that he must vacate the house.

The house in question is located along Sezibwa Road, adjacent to Nakasero Primary School and Kampala Club.
