The National Council for Higher Education has asked higher institutions of learning to continue with online teaching following guidance from the minister of education and President Museveni.

According to a January 27th letter from the council’s executive director Mary Okwakol, they have received communication from the minister of education, Janet Museveni indicating that higher institutions of learning should continue with online teaching for three more months as government comes up with a lasting solution.

She says that the decision to maintain closure of these institutions followed advice from the Presidential Scientific Advisory Committee.

She asks all institutions without online and distance learning systems in place and all those that have not been approved for the same to urgently apply for it.
