The government has disbursed over Shs9 billion to rehabilitate city roads that are in the sorry state.

While addressing the media in Kampala, the minister of Kampala metropolitan affairs, Betty Amongi said this is after the continued outcry of city dwellers over numerous potholes in the city roads.

She explained that Kampala Capital City Authority will now begin filling potholes in all city divisions; in Kawempe, 8 roads will be rehabilitated, Rubaga 10, Nakawa 7, Makindye 9, and Kampala central 9. This will be done within two months.

Meanwhile, Amongi revealed that President Museveni has directed the authority to prepare a comprehensive plan for revamping the city infrastructure through a long-term financing model to be presented to the cabinet for approval.
