Government is has revealed that it is addressing concerns raised over the social media tax.

Government recently introduced a 200 shillings tax on social media which was retained despite cries from various stakeholders.

The permanent secretary ministry of ICT and national guidance Vincent Bagiire says they are now engaged in discussions with the ministry of finance and the Uganda communications commission with a view of having the tax payable for 24 hours.

It follows concerns raised by members of the public over expiry of the tax at midnight regardless of the time one pays
