IGP stops a peaceful demonstration by women over murders and kidnaps

The inspector general of police Martin Okoth Ochola has stopped the planned demonstration by women protesters over the rampant spate of murders and kidnaps.

Thewomen led by the Opposition Forum for Democratic change women league wrote to the IGP seeking for protection in their planned peaceful demonstration scheduled for Saturday 30th June 2018.

In a letter dated 16thJunefrom Ochola, the intended demonstration to raise aware cannot take place since the reasons for the demonstration have already been addressed.

Speaking to KFM however the league’s spokesperson Sarah Eperu has vowed to defy the order arguing that the women are not satisfied.
