Denis Avaga, a 27-year-old security guard deployed at Madhvani sugarcane plantation in Kakira town council, Jinja district has been stabbed to death by his wife’s lover. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening after Avaga, a resident of Mawoito A village, returned home from work and discovered his wife engaged in an extramarital affair.

According to Kiira regional police spokesperson, Mr James Mubi, Avaga heard his wife screaming upon entering the house. When he confronted them, the suspect allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed Avaga multiple times in the chest, stomach, and arm.

“The deep stabbing in the chest led to serious bleeding and Ayaga succumbed to injuries after being rushed to Madhvani hospital for medical attention and treatment,” Mubi said in a statement.

The suspect reportedly fled the scene and surrendered himself to Kakira Central police station. Five individuals are currently under arrest as investigations into the murder continue.
