Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has tasked the Acting deputy executive director, Kampala Capital City Authority Samuel Sserunkuma to explain why the authority re-appointed enforcement officers who were convicted for violating human rights.

This was after Lukwago received information that a group of enforcement officers who were imprisoned for torturing city street vendors and hawkers had been re-employed upon release.

In his defence during today’s council meeting, Sserunkuma refuted the allegations saying they only employed officers who were found innocent.
