Uganda’s Jacob Kiplimo has broken the Commonwealth Games record in the 10,000m scooping a gold medal in Birmingham.

The race saw Kiplimo run past Kenya’s Daniel Ebenyo to register a record of 27:09:19.

Kiplimo broke fellow Ugandan Joshua Cheptegei’s record of 27:19:62 he set in the 2018 Gold coast.

In other games, Uganda fell to England in the Netball tournament losing 56-35 in Birmingham.

England dominated all the three quarters leaving Uganda to trail 13-7 in the first quarter, 25-15 at half time before England won by a difference of 21.

The she cranes will look for better fortunes today as they face off with Northern Ireland.
