On Tuesday the general manager of NMS (National Medical Stores) told parliament that it was stuck with 20 containers of unclaimed mama kits worth Sh1.2 billion.

More investigations are needed to establish why mama kits are stuck at the National Medical Stores.

Buikwe South MP Dr. Lulume Bayiga says it is such a shame to hoard items that are much needed by helpless mothers especially in rural areas.

He says MPs must dig deeper into the matter and establish the cause of the problem and have those responsible held liable.
