A 20 year old man has been arrested by police in Namutumba for allegedly defiling  a 5 month-old baby.

The suspect has been named as Ali  Woila  a resident of Bumegera village in Ivukula sub-county in Namutumba district.

The Busoga East Police spokesperson James Mubi says the suspect is said to have been misled by traditional healers that he would get riches if he played sex with such a minor.

He says the suspect committed the offence as his wife left the baby behind with him at home to go and collect food in the garden.

He says the suspect will be charged with aggravated defilement.
