The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) is carrying out a census mapping exercise ahead of the May enumeration exercise.

The executive director for the Uganda Bureau of Statistics, Dr. Chris Mukiza, says they are mapping all the households, with 87 percent of the mapping exercise (villages) so far completed.

He says, they are procuring 120,000 tablets which will be used in the enumeration exercise.

He says the census night will be carried out on May 9, 2024, and the actual census will kick off on May 10, 2024, and it will take 10 days.

“We have already mapped 87 percent of the country where the National Population and Housing Census is going to take place; so we are on course for this very important undertaking which guides the country in policy formulation and planning,” he said.
