The Katikiro of Buganda Kingdom, Charles Peter Mayiga, has advised leaders to avoid using the media to address conflicts.

He made this statement during a courtesy visit to Bulange Mengo by leaders from Buddu County, led by Nyendo-Mukungwe legislator Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba, and Busiro County, led by Busiro East Member of Parliament Medard Lubega Ssegona.

The leaders purchased Kabaka birthday run kits worth Shs10 million combined. Both Buddu and Busiro counties purchased kits worth Shs5 million each.

Mayiga emphasized the importance of private dialogue to resolve issues. He advised leaders to avoid making decisions when they are angry and instead focus on resolving problems constructively.

Meanwhile, Mpuuga called upon the Buganda Kingdom to prioritize grooming leaders from the grassroots level, highlighting the need for more capable leaders. He commended His Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II for his efforts in fighting HIV/AIDS.

The Kabaka birthday run will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Lubiri-Mengo in Kampala.
