Rtd Major General Mugisha Muntu is optimistic that his new political party, the Alliance for National Transformation will solve the problems currently faced by opposition parties in Uganda.

As the 2021 general elections near, the opposition continues to tear itself apart as the ruling NRM takes advantage of the situation.

The Opposition Democratic party has since proposed for a joint opposition candidate, a decision other opposition members are yet to endorse.

Muntu says the opposition will only get a grip on power if they sort themselves and work together.

He adds that unlike what people think about his party, they are not a divergent force but rather one that seeks to work with everyone to see change take place.
