President Yoweri Museveni has interdicted the director for Citizenship and Immigration Godfrey Sasaga and the Commissioner for Immigration’s commissioner Anthony Namara.

Speaking to Daily Monitor on phone from India, the State minister for Internal Affairs Mario Obiga Kania confirms that the directors have indeed been interdicted.

Another highly-placed government official says senior detectives at the Criminal Investigations Directorate have been asked to investigate the two top immigration officials.

The President’s letter interdicting the director and commissioner was reportedly sent to the Internal Affairs minister last evening, but the reasons for their suspension is not yet known.
