Kampala Woman MP Nabila Sempala has been released after being arrested by the police earlier today.

Nabilah was this morning arrested in Katwe, where she was mobilizing youths ahead of her rally in the same area, later this afternoon.

She first hid in one of the shops, from where the police pulled her and forced into her vehicle and led her away.

She has however been released and has now join the meeting held by members of the opposition at the Inter-Party Offices along Katonga road.

Those attending the meeting include FDC leader Col. Kiiza Besigye, the Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, Ingrid Turinawe, the group’s coordinator Mathias Mpuga and several Members of Parliament.

Police deployment around the area remains very tight.

Meanwhile, the Katwe Playground where Nabilah’s rally is scheduled to take has been surrounded by the police.

Officers have been deployed in and around the playground, taking it over fully.

Teargas was earlier fired to disperse MP Nabilah’s supporters who had gathered around her in Katwe.
