Five members of the same family have perished in a motor accident that occurred in Namutumba district on their to Budaka district for burial.

The Busoga East Region police spokesperson James Mubi says the accident occurred at Jaruko trading center a long Namutumba – Tirinyi – Mbale highway.

He says the deceased, all residents of Bugembe, in Jinja district were traveling in a Subaru Forester vehicle registration number UBE 360N that had a head-on collision with a wheel loader registration number UAX 635/Q  belonging to Dot services that was coming from Tirinyi in Kibuku district.

Three people died on the spot while the others died on their way to Nakavule hospital in Iganga where they were being rushed in critical condition.

“The three who died on the spot are; a one Mariam Musenero, Nasiru Musenero, and Sabano Madina”, says Mr. Mubi.
