NDA sounds warning over illegal sales of stolen ARVs in foreign countries

The National Drug Authority (NDA) has called for increased public cooperation to tame the rampant theft of government drugs following the recovery of medicines worth over Shs4 billion this year.

Mr Abiaz Rwamwiri, the NDA spokesperson told this reporter that some of the medicines were recovered during a targeted operation by the Authority in Kampala and Wakiso.

“National Drug Authority felt it was important that we spend three months non-stop conducting targeted enforcement, knowing that Kampala and Wakiso alone have more than half of the registered drug outlets in the country, so it becomes the centre of our attention,” he said. Read more
