Uganda women’s national team, the Crested Cranes eliminated Rwanda after extra time to progress to the next round of the 2024 Paris Olympics qualifiers.

Fazila Ikwaput scored for Uganda in extra time to set up the Cameroon tie in the next round.

Crested Cranes assistant coach Ayub khalifa says he rectified all the mistakes that cost them in the first leg.

The game that was attended by Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja and Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) president Eng Moses Magogo was played at the Pele Stadium in Rwanda’s capital, Kigali.

Uganda and Cameroon will face off in the second round of the qualifiers in October and the winner will face Nigeria or Ethiopia in the third round.
