Onyango mourns death of coach Kajoba

 Former Uganda Cranes captain, Denis Masinde Onyango has mourned former Uganda Cranes goalkeeping coach Fred Kajoba who passed on this evening in Tanzania.

In a statement released on his X account, the Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper described the deceased as a fatherly figure, a brother, patriotic Ugandan and a committed member of the game of football. Kajoba is said to have succumbed to a yet to be identified illness this evening.

He was the goalkeeping Coach when Uganda Cranes ended the 38 year wait without participating in the Africa Cup of Nations finals.

Last year, Kajoba joined longtime friend Moses Basena at Tanzania’s Ihefu SC, where he served as both the goalkeeping and assistant coach till his demise.

Details about the cause of his death and burial arrangements are yet to be released
