A group of opposition polling agents crossed to the ruling National Resistance Movement side after their candidates reportedly failed to provide them lunch during yesterday’s elections.

The visible angry agents representing various candidates vying for LCIII Woman Councilor Wandegeya parish seat, were seen throwing away their candidates’ tags expressing disappointment with them for failure to give them lunch and water- saying this is a clear sign that they will not even get the agreed allowances.

Their anger was stirred after the NRM candidate Shanitah Mulumba Nampiima brought plenty of mouth-watering food for her agents at all polling stations in Wandegeya and also gave them Shs.20,000 for drinks which tempted the agents of some opposition candidates to cross over to where the pastures were greener.

The candidates who were abandoned by their agents over food include Brenda Kalungi Brenda, Hildred Kivumbi, Halima Nasozi and Juliet Nagujja Nabiralo, all independent candidates.
