The City executive Director Jennifer Musisi has condemned the acts of violence witnessed in Luzira during an eviction exercise gone bloody yesterday.

Addressing the media at her offices, Musisi said KCCA was already in touch with the families of the victims to help with expenses for both burial arrangements and medical bills for those injured.

She also says they are looking at reviewing the eviction exercise, to check obvious gaps in the process.

She however says investigations into the matter are ongoing and the findings will be communicated.

One person died on the spot and three were injured after a body guard to physical planning director Goerge Agaba fired bullets at the crowd.

The injured people have been identified as Hakim Karumba, Florence, Twaili Kalibatala and Denis Agaba.

Meanwhile,

The Inspector General of Police Lt. General Kale Kaihura has condemned the excessive use of force by KCCA officials who killed and injured 4 people during an eviction process yesterday.

Kaihura who visited the affected residents of Luzira Port Bell road where the incident took place, said the officials abused the use of their guns which is illegal.

Kaihura also criticized the eviction saying the president issued an order stopping evictions of this manner.

He also wondered why KCCA officials chose Luzira, leaving behind many other people operating on road reserves.
