One of Uganda’s most decorated referees Mohamed Ssegonga has retired from officiation of all matches.

The 41 year old who became a FIFA referee in 1998, wrote to international soccer governing body FIFA requesting to be released from referees’ official duties due to personal reasons.

The teacher cum referee officiated at the last edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in Angola and has been in charge of various continental club and international engagements.

In a farewell message, the Chief Executive Officer of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Edgar Watson commended Ssegonga for the noble representation of Uganda at the different CAF and FIFA assignments that he executed.
