The opposition Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) leader, Gen. Mugisha Muntu has warned Uganda’s youth against joining politics for money.

Muntu was speaking during one of the party’s grassroot mobilization activities in Agola and Nakatunya Sub Counties in Soroti city.

Addressing local party leaders, Gen Muntu has warned that those who  are in politics for money often end up disappointing their voters.

He emphasises the need to prioritize the voices and needs of the people who trust them with their votes.

“We have just been to west Nile, Zombo and from there we went to amur district and then Gulu  it is our intention to tour every sub-county until we get honest men and women I leadership not only  at the top right from down we are going to have a big problem in this country.” Mr. Muntu said.

Several political parties including the National Unity Platform (NUP) and the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) have embarked on countrywide grassroot mobilisation campaigns ahead of the 2026 general elections.
