The Uganda police force says so far, three armed assailants have been put out of action in Iganga district and Kapeeka in Nakaseke district in operations against attacks on security installations.

Addressing journalists during a weekly press briefing at police headquarters in Naguru, police spokesperson, Fred Enanga noted that so far, 3 guns and 88 ammunitions have been recovered.

He has assured all security personnel that the leadership of the Joint Security Agencies is doing everything possible to prevent such unprovoked attacks and ambushes.

Attacks on security installations have been reported in Luweero, Busiika, Gadafi checkpoint in Jinja, Kabalagala, and Kapeeka in Nakaseke district where several security personnel on duty have been attacked and some killed by assailants.

Police say they are yet to ascertain the motive behind the attacks whether it is an organized crime by a domestic terror cell or just random acts of domestic activism.

Enanga has however vowed that regardless of their ideology, the perpetrators will be brought to book.
