By Ruth Anderah.

Two aggrieved citizens have petitioned the High court in Kampala seeking declarations that the continued detention of Former IGP Kale Kayihura at Makindye Millitary barracks without formally charging him in court is unlawful.

Issa Ogomba an advocate and Sarah Rukundo a UCU student in their suit filed against the Attorney General, say they have no relationship or nexus with General Kayihura’s family but as citizens, they have a duty to enforce each other’s rights.

The duo are now seeking for express orders that either the Army unconditionally releases Gen. Kayihura from detention or produces him before court because the mandatory 48hrs ended.

Kayihura has been detained at Makindye Military barracks for close to two months now with no charges preferred against him.

His Case is yet to be fixed for hearing
