Uganda’s ITTF campaign stops in Kigali

Uganda’s campaign at the ITTF Africa Cup in Kigali, Rwanda has ended with 3 knockout defeats this afternoon.

Judith Parvin Nangonzi, Uganda’s biggest hope after 2 emphatic wins at the group stages yesterday, was the first to bow out after losing 4-1 to Ghanaian Joanita Borteye in the Round of 16.

Sam Ankunda lost 4-1 to Egyptian Mohamed El-Beiali in the men’s singles Round of 16 while Jonathan Senyonga lost 4-0 to Ylane Baxit of Cameroon.

Youngster Patience Anyango lost in the groups to Tunisia’s Fadwa Garci 3-0 earlier in the day.
