A Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) engineer has died by drowning as he alongside his colleagues were rescuing a Toyota Hiace taxi occupants that had been trapped by floods after River Tangi, a subsidiary of River Nile burst its banks on Wednesday.

Aswa West Police spokesman David Ongom Mudong identified the deceased as Yahaya Hassan, 45, a marine engineer, attached to UNRA Pakwach station. Read more
