Following the official launch of the COVID-19 vaccination on Wednesday, where  over 300 Individuals got their 1st dose of the vaccine, vaccination at districts/ cities level begins today .

According to the health minister Doctor Jane Ruth Acheng, public health workers at district and city levels will be vaccinated beginning at 8.00am followed by Private Not for Profit and and with the health workers in the Private facilities.

Vaccination of health workers that started yesterday will go up to 15th March 2021 followed by teachers/ Lecturers from 16th to 19th March, 2021.

The Vaccination service points in each district will be established at the National and Regional Referral Hospitals, District Hospitals, HC III and IVs and each  district has five vaccination service points .

All eligible persons are required to sign a consent form before vaccination is given.

The exercise targets more than 21.9 million people who face the highest risk of the infection like the health workers, teachers, social workers and security personnel, elderly and those with underlying medical conditions.
