The government says it has put in place a plan for effective management of a possible influx of people from Kenya in case of post-election violence resulting from tomorrow’s general election.

This follows reports that hundreds of foreigners, who have been in Kenya, have started leaving the country through the Busia and Malaba borders ahead of the highly-contested presidential elections tomorrow.

According to Kenya’s electoral body the IEBC, all is set for tomorrow’s exercise in which 22m registered voters will choose their next president.

The two front runners for the Kenyan presidential race are opposition leader Raila Odinga are Deputy President William Ruto.

The other candidates in the presidential race are George Wajackoyah of the Roots Party of Kenya and Waihiga Mwaure of the Agano party.

Speaking to KFM, the Minister of State in charge of Regional Affairs, John Mulimba says unlike the 2007 Kenya polls that caught Uganda unawares with an influx at border districts following violence which marred the elections, the government this time has a comprehensive plan in place.
